Abstract: The ProtekDuo (LivaNova, London, United Kingdom)is a single-site, dual-lumen (dl) cannula, sized 29 and31 French (Fr.), which is designed for ECMO in variousconfigurations. The ProtekDuo shares similar character-istics with other dual-lumen cannulas; however, the mainadvantage of the ProtekDuo is bypassing the right ven-tricle (RV), which allows one to decrease preload and todecompress the right heart. The purpose of this report isto demonstrate the use of the ProtekDuo as a dual- lumendrainage cannula for an extended time in central VP- /AOECMO configuration.
